Broiled Asparagus
- Fresh Asparagus - as much as you want
- Olive Oil - enough to coat asparagus
- Season to taste - I just use a pinch of salt and pepper but thyme or dill are nice
Preheat oven to 450º
Wash asparagus and *snap* the bottom off each spear just at the point where the spear snaps easily. Coat asparagus with a small amount of olive oil and spread in single layer on a baking sheet. Season to taste. Bake for 5 minutes till spears turn bright green. Cooking time can be increased if more tender asparagus is preferred.
*Note*: snapping at this place prevents you from leaving any tough ends on the spears. When spears are cut you usually end up with some hard fiborous ends.
